What to expect

A session with Sarah,
step by step

01
🗣️
We talk

Every session begins with a conversation. What's happening in your life, your body, your mind. No agenda, no rush. Your experience shapes everything that follows.

02
🧠
We go deeper

Using hypnotherapy and NLP, we access the part of your nervous system that holds the pattern — and gently begin to shift it. You remain aware and in control throughout.

03
🎧
You continue at home

You receive a personalised audio recording after each session. Listening between appointments deepens and anchors the changes your brain has started to make.

Areas of expertise

What we can
work on together

😮‍💨
Stress & Burnout

When the nervous system is stuck in overdrive. We work to restore a lasting baseline of calm — without white-knuckling your way through each day.

😰
Anxiety

Persistent worry, social anxiety, performance anxiety, panic. Hypnotherapy helps the mind unlearn the alarm response that's no longer serving you.

🫁
IBS & Digestion

Gut-directed hypnotherapy has strong clinical evidence for IBS. We work the gut-brain connection to reduce symptoms and restore ease around food.

💛
Chronic Pain

Pain is processed by the brain. Hypnotherapy changes how the nervous system interprets pain signals — bringing measurable, lasting relief.

🌸
Endometriosis

Pain management, cycle dread, body trust. Hypnotherapy doesn't treat endometriosis — it changes your relationship to it, profoundly.

😴
Sleep & Fatigue

Racing thoughts at 2am, waking exhausted. Hypnotherapy teaches the nervous system that rest is safe — and how to get there reliably.

Hypnotherapy is not
what you think it is.

No loss of control. No sleep. No stage tricks. It's a natural state you already know — that moment between waking and sleep when the body fully lets go. In that state, your nervous system can learn new responses. Safely. With you in full control throughout.

You are always in control

You remain aware of everything throughout. You can speak, move or stop at any time. Hypnotherapy cannot make you do anything against your will.

💊

Works alongside your medical care

Hypnotherapy doesn't replace your medical treatment — it complements it. Recognised for pain, anxiety and functional symptoms.

🎯

Works even if you can't meditate

Every brain can enter a hypnotic state. Even if you think you "can't", the process is already working. It gets easier with each session.

About Sarah

I'm Sarah Berdugo,
Clinical Hypnotherapist

After years working with people experiencing chronic stress, IBS, endometriosis and persistent pain, I've developed one deep conviction: your body is not your enemy. It's trying to protect you — with the tools it knows.

Hypnotherapy gives it new ones. Gentler, more effective, more lasting. I work in English and French, in person at my Randwick practice and online worldwide.

Common questions

Things people
often ask

None at all. Many people who struggle with meditation actually find hypnotherapy much easier — it's a guided, natural state, not something you have to achieve. Every brain can access it.
No. You remain aware and conscious throughout. You can speak, move or stop at any point. Clinical hypnotherapy has nothing to do with stage hypnosis — you are always in full control.
Absolutely, and it's encouraged. Hypnotherapy doesn't replace medical care; it complements it by working on pain perception, nervous system regulation and emotional processing. If in doubt, mention it to your GP.
It depends on what we're working on. Some people notice significant shifts in 3–4 sessions. Others prefer a longer, more gradual process. We'll discuss this together in your first session — there's no fixed programme.
Yes — the evidence supports this, and my experience with hundreds of online clients confirms it. Being in your own familiar space can actually deepen the relaxation response. All you need is a quiet space and a stable connection.
Yes, for in-person sessions at Randwick. I'm registered with the Australian Hypnotherapists Association (AHA), which is recognised by most major health funds under extras cover. Check your policy for your specific entitlements.
Securing payment at booking guarantees your slot and means I can prepare fully for your session. It also establishes a clear, professional framework — which is part of what makes the work effective.
